    3. The Wylie families lived on east and west banks (and beyond) of the Wylie Branch (officially, West Fork of the Buttahatchee River). The Wylie family that I remember from the 1940s & early 1950s lived along existing Hwy 241 (in a dog-trot home; at the crossroads leading to the George Whitehead water-mill on Wylie Branch). This Wylie home would have been located in T10S, R11W (don't have section #; roughly 2.5 miles no. of Whitehouse). John Nixon Wylie & wives Nancy Jane Nelson and Mary Bell Peppers are all buried at Old Ireland cemetery, I think. According to map by Univ of Alabama Geography/Cartography Dept, Old Ireland is located in T10S, R11W, Sec 9 - it has 14 graves and is known to have been active during the period 1883-1931 (from gravestone data; perhaps active in 1834 if burial place for Nancy Jane Nelson).
