The Mary Wallace Cobb Library,P.O.Box 357,Vernon,Al 35592 ph.(205)695-6123 <mwclib@fayette.net>is now open in the renovated old high school building located at the intersection of Hwy.17 & 18 .It is the large yellow brick building on the south-west corner of the intersection. Check for business hours before coming to research.They are open week days and closed on Saturdays and holidays.They may reopen on Saturdays.They will open by appointment for groups on Saturdays. Genealogical & Historical Society is a partner to the library which stores a large collection of area genealogical records for researcher to use.Feel free to come in and do your research.There are some records of surrounding areas included in the collection.Old newspapers are stored there also.The courthouse is just down the street. You may donate a copy of your lineage to the collection if you wish.
