Married to Sara Ann Ballard b. 01/15/1859 d. 06/08/1934 Buried Cooper Cemetary GW's father- William Monroe "Billy" Rye b. 03/11/1816 d. 01/09/1905 Buried Cooper Cemetary mother- Elizabeth Jeffreys b. 1824 d. 1897 Buried Cooper Cemetary (She is second wife) m. 02/17/1858 William Rye's first wife was - Ann Bowling b. 1821 d. 1852(?) Buried Whittle Cemetary- Marion Co. AL m. 11/10/1833 She is the mother of Andrew Jackson, Alex, and James Rye. These men were in Co. B of the 26th Alabama CSA. William M. Rye's father was Solomon Rye Jr. b. 6/4/1783, North Carolina d. 8/10/1855 Mississippi Solomon Jr was son of Solomon Rye Sr. b. 1755, North Carolina d. Mar 1821, Dickson, TN. Hope this helps.
