    3. It was the son James Underwood b. 1812 that died in the civil war. Henry was b. abt. 1770 in Chester Co. Pa. married Rachel Wells b. abt. 1771-1772 in Orange Co., N.C. They married Oct. 3, 1975 in Orange Co., N.C. The children were: Alexander Underwood b. abt. 1795 in Orange Co., N.C. d. in Marion Co., Ala. bet. 1865-1870 Mary E. Underwood b. 1806 N.C. D. 1880 Marion Co., Al. James Underwood b. 1812 in N.C. d. 1840's Jesse Underwood b. 1814, N.C. d. 1898 Marion Co., Alabama Alexander married abt. 1820 to Lavina 'Vinny' Prewitt (sometimes spelled Pruitt) They had a son William Prewitt Underwood that married my Gr-Gr- Aunt Charlotte F. Pickard.
