Listers, It looks like I have a problem. I have a Robert G. HARBIN/HARBEN who reportedly died 18 Oct 1880, buried at Liberty Cemetery near Winfield. Only problem with that is that he & wife Nancy are alo supposed to have gotten BLM land 20 Feb 1884 in Sect 32,T-2S,R-11W - 4 years later! Anyhow, I had hoped to find probate records for him to find out what kids he had besides James Floyd b1836 but I understand there are no court records before 1885 because of a fire. Are there any other ways I can find out about his descendents? Are there any obituaries available? What paper might have been published then? Any funeral homes? Anything? Please share your ideas & help me. Joan Marie
The 1860 Cobb Co. Ga. has an R.G. Harbin with wife Nancy and several children listed by initial only, could be them. They did have a George W. along with the mentioned James Floyd that can be found on LDS search page.
