Andy, Is this the cemetary near Maestricht--close to the German Border? IF so, I have visited that cemetary and it is so beautiful and sad. I understand the Dutch people adopt the graves in the American cemetaries and put flowers on them all year, except in the winter. I love you Dutch for not forgetting our men.....it seems most of the world has forgotten some of the good things America has done. My father and 3 uncles fought in WWII in Europe and your actions have special meaning to me. All of them came home alive. I have Dutch friends in the area of Zutphen and love to visit your country. Thank you and all the others for your kindness and thoughtfulness. I am looking for information about Leroy M McKnight ( born 7-10-1919 ) who flew on a B17 "Maid to order" His aircraft crashed on Febr 16, 1945 in Holland. I adopted 3 graves at the ww2 cementery in Margraten the netherlands. We caretakers are the ones who look after the graves of these brave men. I go there every week to put flowers on their graves. These men are falling but will never be forgotten. I also adopted the grave of Joseph V Del Torto who flew with Leroy McKnight in the maid to order and didnt survived the crash. I go there every week to put flowers on their graves in Margraten. I am working on a story about the crew, so i can have a face behind the grave and tell my kids about them. If i could find some information or a photo of Leroy i would be very trilled Hope to hear from anyone Gr Andy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
