I believe Joshua's father was the first Nichols to come to Marion County. Joshua's brother William Hedgepath Nichols left a lot of descendants in Marion County, altho he died in TN - during the civil war, I think. My great grandmother, Annie Loyd, who m Ben Williams had a sister, Matilda, who married James Nichols, a son of Wm Hedgepath and Mary Claxton Smith Nichols.
