I think he may have been born in Marion Co. but I am not positive. His mother was Sarah Roebuck, daughter of John Roebuck 1760-1853. I have no information on Miles' father other than his surname and that he was born in Kentucky. Sarah Roebuck and the unknown Purvis had another son that I know of but dont know much about named William Purvis. I know that Miles and William both served in the Confederate army during the Civil War. If anyone has any possible information on either William Purvis or his father please let me know.
