It is really mind-blowing with all the information on the web. I know there are a lot of documents that I need to find and order. Rueben Mahile Hollis( born January 8,1968 Died October 1952) is my G Grandfather. Darling Hollis(Born 1820 or 1823 or 1830)(My GG Grandfather) is his father and I really would like to find who this particular Darlings parents are and where he might have died. He married Sarah Ann Nolan. I believe finding this Darlings parents will answer a lot of my questions. With him being list as a Jr. in the 1850 and 1860 census I thought his father might be Darling Hollis( Born 1804 in S.C.)(Right now I call him Darling Sr.). I have come to believe that he was an Uncle. Reuben Mahile Hollis Born January 8,1868 Died October 1952 Sons: Alvin born October 11, 1891 Elbert born March 18, 1894 Emory born February 12, 1902 Gettis born July 23, 1904 Alton born August 29, 1910 My father Alton was born March 11, 1939 in Hedrick, OK. Alton is my fathers dad. Reuben Mahile Hollis is listed with Darling Hollis in the 1870 & 1880 census. I have also seen his name several ways. He is Mihele in Precinct 4, Wise, Texas in 1900 and 1910. Mahile was born in Alabama. Mahile Hollis is my G Grandfather and died in a small hotel fire in October 1952 around Tipton, Oklahoma. His dad Darling(My GG Grandfather) was born in South Carolina about 1820 (maybe 1823 or 1830) and his mother Sarah A(1834) was born in Alabama. Year: 1850 Beat 4, Marion, Alabama Page:107 Roll:M432_10 Darling Jr(27(My GG Grandfather)) is listed living with a Berry Hollis(45) who I believe is a relative. Year 1860: Weston, Marion, Alabama Roll: M653_16 page 609 Darlie Hollis Jr (30)(My GG Grandfather) is listed with Sarah(25), Thomas(6), Nancy(3) and Roseanna(1) in Weston, Marion, Alabama. Year 1870: Township 13 Range 14, Sanford, Alabama Roll: M593_39 page 334 Darling Hollis(50)(My GG Grandfather) is listed with Sarah(36), Thomas(15), Nancy(13), Mary(12), Sarah E(10), G Hubert(4) and Reuben M(2)( My G Grandfather). Year: 1880; Census Place: Moscow, Lamar, Alabama; Roll: T9_17; Family History Film: 1254017; Page: 595D; Enumeration District: 131; Image: 0506. Darling Hollis(50)(My GG Grandfather) is listed with Sarah A(46), Thomas(26), Mary R(21), Sarah(18), George(14), Mehia(12)( My G Grandfather), David(10) and Laura(6) Year: 1900; Census Place: Justice Precinct 4, Wise, Texas; Roll: T623 1680; Page: 2A; Enumeration District: 144. Mihele Hollis(31)( My G Grandfather) is listed with Lula(28)wife, Alvin(8) and Elbert(6). Year: 1910, Series: T624 Roll: 1600 Part: 2 Page 149A Mihele Hollis(39)( My G Grandfather) is listed with Lula(37)wife, Alvin(18) and Elbert(15), Emory(8) and Gettis(5). Year: 1920, Roll:T625_1467 Page: 9B, ED 140 Image: 0741 Mihele Hollis(50)( My G Grandfather) is listed with Lula(48)wife, Alvin(28) and Elbert(26), Emory(18), Gettis(15) and Alton(9)(My Grandfather) The big problem that I am having right now is finding out who Darlings parents really are. His father would be my GGG Grandfather. I would also like to find out where he died. Thanks, Marc
