Who was her father? I'm a bit confused by your information. Did Sarah marry a DYKES? Rachel Matilda DYKES was the sister of my ancestor Martha Emmeline DYKES who married James Knox Polk CHASTAIN. Both were children of Zilpha Delilah HOWELL and Thomas G[olleher?] DYKES. She appears on the 1900 census of Winston Co., AL with husband John BEATTIE (variously spelled). I believe she was his second wife. I believe I may have a xeroxed picture of her with some grandchildren. I have more on the ancestry of Rachel's parents but not much on her. I will do a little digging to see what I can come up with.
