Good to hear from someone with some information. My Joseph Harper, I believe also had a brother, John Givens Harper, who also died in the war leaving behind his wife and children. They lived in Lowndes Co., Ms. at the time and my Joseph lived in Marion Co. John Givens had a son named Erastus Octavius Harper. Erastus lived not far from my gg grandfather in Lowndes Co., Ms. as adults raising their families and caring for their mother's. By adulthood, Erastus' mother had remarried and so had Joseph's, to what I could understand. Any information you may have to help me complete this line and understand it will be wonderful.
