Brock along with Elizabeth Dykes. I believe this to be my grandmother, who's father was William Lambert and Mother was Sallie Dykes (Names on her death certificate). In the Lambert Newsletter, dated May 26, 1972 it states that Dessie Lambert Hill said that William Lambert was father of three children, other than the one he had with Martha Ramsey, one boy and two girls. The boy was Tom, the girls were Ella and Josie and their mother was Bets Dykes. Tom died a young man. When Bets Dykes died the oldest girl, Ella went to live with her (Dessie's) grandmother (Martha Ramsey Lambert). H. G. Lambert (Dessie's father) took care of Josie until she was 13, when then Ella took her to South Alabama (Which I (Imogene) believe was just south to Tuscaloosa Co.) to live. In the 1880 Census Ella was listed in the census with William lambert and Martha Ramsey but her name was changed to Lambert, so her mother must have died before between the birth of Josie in 1878 and 1880. Also, in a Family Group sheet that was from a Lambert Newsletter for William Lambert and Martha Ramsey it states in small print at the bottom that William Lambert also had 3 or 4 other children not listed and their mother was Caroline Dykes. So I am trying to find out what my grandmother's real name was, Caroline, Bets or Sallie. My grandmother was born February 7, 1878. If you could help me with any of this information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Imogene Smith
