    1. Re: Re: Lookup in Dorothy Stalcup's cemetery books
    2. Thanks, Randy. We've talked before, haven't we.....about where Littleton Lindsey was buried? You might be interested to know that my son and I have come to the conclusion that your sources are correct, our 'missing' Dukes and Littleton and Rhoda Lindsey are buried at Bethlehem Methodist Church cemetery. We've been in touch with a Duke descendant who is a marine archeologist, and he will possibly be taking soundings of the long unmarked strip in the Bethlehem cemetery, so that we can know how many graves are there. I think, since the land for the church was donated by my great grandfather John Duke, that it would be reasonable to assume that the early burials there are his family. I expect (if we do the soundings), we will find a number of graves. I think Meredith Duke, my gg grandfather is buried there, as is his wife who was also Littleton Lindsey's wife. And John Duke's brother Ensley , who died during the civil war, and his sister Nancy, who married Josiah Kennedy, but died young. I suppose the other brother James could be buried there, for his widow is (she married John Russell Irvin). Kind of a relief, I feel I have been chasing my tail. :) Really appreciate you asking your folks about Austin and Ila. I know so little, tho I do have an excellent photo of their eldest son Paul. Do ask if he has children living in Selma for me. Thanks a bunch. PS are you related to the Ruth Palmer who married Leamon Duke? > > From: "Randy Palmer" <rpalmer@dmci.net> > Date: 2005/07/26 Tue PM 01:02:12 EDT > To: ALMARION-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: Lookup in Dorothy Stalcup's cemetery books > > I never met Earnie (that I remember of) but I do remember Erma and > Herman were deaf mutes.
