Timmie, my greatgrandma was Emmer Francis Coon (I'll have to find her date of birth, etc.). I believe she died abt 1906? She is buried in the Lower Cemetery at Hackleburg. She married James Alfred Mann. Her parents were Sarah E. Lawrence, b. 1853 m. James M. Coon. Family records indicate Sarah, widow of James Coon, remarried in April of 1888 to Robert Mann. I believe they lived around Bear Creek in Marion Co. Al. Maybe we can sort through the James Coons to find out who they are? In 1861 when you g grandmother was born, my gg grandmother would have been 8 years old. Where was your James Coon born? As with so many of that time period, I just wonder if he married more than once? > > Barbara, > > Can you tell me more about your Coon family? Hi, Timmie. Could you give some more information on your Wm Carroll Reed, where, when, father/son, etc? I am trying to find a William Reed purportedly born in Arkansas, per his son Shipman Wesley's death certificate; Shipman born 1839 in probably Alabama, his mother unknown. So I am thinking that Wm was probably born before 1820. Have been searching the 1850 AR county censuses which I can find online, thinking a Wm with a son Shipman 11 years old should be enough different to locate his father, no luck so far. Shipman later moved to TX, married a Mary and had Emma, James and John, and second marriage Lavina Lusk had Edward SAMUEL born CA 1883. Be interested if any connection to your family. Thanks, Aileen in WA

Surnames: Howell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RS.2ADE/775.1.1 Message Board Post: We never heard anymore about the graves on the old Howell property there in Marion County, However I needed to post a correction, My GrandMother Dicey Cannon Howell had four children with Bud Howell. I had not counted the youngest daughter Adele, since she had been adopted out at a very early age of 3 years old. So the children were 3 daughters and 1 son. The family had looked through out the years and it was not until this August of 2006 we were blessed to find our beloved Aunt Adele. How sad that only one of her siblings were left remaining. The reunion was bitter-sweet.
