    3. Ira, >From the naming pattern of Robert and Gracie Hallmark's children which you mention and which we've discussed before, I've thought that Gracie might be a daughter of Azael and Patience Harris. But, I've never found proof. Someone sent me a copy of a page of Marion County court records and listed on the page was the following: Vol 3, #178, A. T. Hallmark from J. T. Harris, then states "not in book". I feel sure that this was Azael Thompson Hallmark, oldest child of Robert Hallmark, but I don't know who J. T. Harris was. This must be a land transaction, and this is all I know about it. In trying to find the maiden name of Gracie Hallmark, I sent for the death certificate of Martha Ann who is listed with Robert and Gracie as age 6 on the 1850 Marion County census. Her DC states the following: Born: Marion County, AL, date not filled in Died: Calhoun County, AL 17 May 1930 Buried: Edgemont, Calhoun County Father's Name: Robert Hallmark, b. Tennessee Mother's name: Martha Brown, born North Carolina NOTE: According to census, Robert was born in Alabama. This leaves me wondering if Martha Brown was a first wife of Robert Hallmark and Gracie was a second wife. Or, was Gracie's full name Martha Grace Brown???? It's interesting to note that Robert's oldest daughter Mary K. Hallmark Mitchell named her daughter Martha Malinda and it could be that she was given the name Martha after her grandmother Martha Brown Hallmark and the name Malinda after her grandmother Malinda South Mitchell. It's also interesting to note, that Robert's second daughter Patience Hallmark Nichols named one of her daughters Gracie. I've tried finding death certificates for other children of Robert and Gracie to see if they might give Gracie's maiden name, but so far haven't had any luck. I believe daughter Sarah, who married John Parker, died in Lee County, MS after 1910 so there might be a death certificate for her. I'm working on that. If anyone has any further information, please post. Thanks. 3. Did Gracie marry Robert Hallmark? Robert was a brother to my gg-grandfather, Taylor Hallmark. Do you have any documents that might help prove who Gracie married? This is so exciting because we never knew who Robert's wife's last name was. 3. I am a descendant of Azael (Azell) Daniel Harris and his wife, Patience. While comparing census information I realized that there are three daughters of this couple that I do not have. One was born between 1810-1815 One was born between 1815-1820 One was born between 1825-1830 Gracie, Jane K, and Catherine M. were their other three daughters. They also had 5-6 sons Gracie Harris married a Hallmark and named two of her children Azael and Patience. Does anyone know of any other Marion County families who have children or grandchildren named Azael (Azell) or Patience? This Harris family consistently uses that same names down the generations. This Harris line is part of the line of Robert Harris of Ware Creek, New Kent County, Virginia. They are part of Group 6 of the Harris Y-DNA Family Study. If you do know of such a family, would you pass that information along to me? Any help is appreciated. Please respond through ALMARION so that others may be helped. Ira L. Harris III

    3. I have very little on the Hardins and it's unverified. But I have Bluford married to Martha J. Webb with children Nancy, William LEMUEL (I remember him as Lem), and Luther B. I have Bluford later married to Jane Stanford with children Raymond, Clint, and Rosie. I have nothing tying to Joab or other children you mention, although there seems to be considerable opportunity for Rannon to be RAYMOND and Ressie to be ROSIE. I know that Bluford lived within maybe a mile or so of the Pikeville Courthouse and off Jackson's Military Road near Soldier's Grave. I have Bluford having a brother named Marion. I do have a little information about Lem and family maybe we could exchange. -----Original Message----- From: almarion-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:almarion-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, April 03, 2007 7:36 PM To: ALMARION-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ALMARION] Family of Joab Hardon in 1900 Census - Bluford Hardin? If Morning Dizena Mansell's father, William Mansell was 1/2 Cherokee (his mother reportedly was named Mourning Flower), given that her mother Morning Dove White was full-blood Cherokee, then Morning Dizena Mansell Palmer would be 3/4 Cherokee. Then further, if there is no Indian-blood in the Palmer side, the sons and daughters of Dr. Russell Porter Palmer would all be 3/8 Cherokee. > Mourning Dizena Mansell Palmer was half Indian, her mother, Mourning Dove > was pure Cherokee. > > > > > Hi to you all on the Marion County web.I have got several e-mails asking > about Morning D.Palmer wife of Russell Palmer,Like was she an Indian? What > tribe?Inc.That I dont know. But this is the way she died.As told by. > > > > > > My Father (James H Palmer)said he remembered the day his grandmother > (Morning D.)died like it was yesterday. She had been living with his family > as for back as he could remember. One thing I've learned is to not always rely on family memories, and also to check and double check "facts". Now having said that, after I post the corrected info., I would still like feedback on some additional info. I've found. First things first, I was told we had Native American ancestry, I assumed Cherokee, because, when doing a search, on who I THOUGHT was my g-grandpa, MONROE LOLLEY, it directly linked him to a Cherokee woman, MORNING DOVE WHITE(MANSELL), and her mom, MOURNING FLOWERS. Turns out, MONROE, isn't my g-grandpa, but the nephew of my g-grandpa, FREEMAN LOLLEY. The reason I assumed that wrong relationship, is because I have always been told that my g-grandpas' middle name was MONROE, so when I found his name, I just went with it. Huge Mistake. For the record, I still have always been told we had Native American, Black Dutch, and Scotts-Irish ancestry. 2nd mistake- I had some of the relationships wrong, the corrected info: HENRY LOLLEY married AMERICA (COLE) LOLLEY, their son was my g-grandpa, FREEMAN LOLLEY, and JAMES JOSEPH LOLLEY was FREEMANs' brother(not dad). MONROE was the son of JAMES JOSEPH LOLLEY, and the nephew of my g-grandpa. 3rd mistake-My mother told me that my g-grandpa had a 2nd family, and that she'd met them as a child, first off, my mother is disabled and gets confused sometimes, and I shouldn't have taken her words as gospel, until I did some fact checking. I said that my g-grandpa was married to a woman with the last name KENEDY, but in reality, it was MONROE who had a wife named LINNEY KENNEDY, my g-grandma is ETHEL(McCAIG)LOLLEY. I'm sure my mother did meet up with different relatives, etc. in Hackleburg, but it wasn't a "2nd" family. another reason I took to that info. so readily is that (unless I'm wrong, yikes), is that both MONROE, and FREEMAN supposedly died in March 1990, like I said that too could be wrong. So I kinda believed I was speaking of the same person. I was correct in the names of the children, FREEMAN and ETHEL had, and the names of the children my grandmother, GLADYS had, whew! Now, what I need help fact checking on is the ancestry of my g-grandma, ETHEL, I'll try not to get too confusing. When I did the search on the wrong name, MONROE, it said he was related to ELVIS PRESLEY, they both shared the same 3rd g-grandma, Morning Dove White. Well when I did a search on my g-grandma, ETHEL McCAIG LOLLEY, it too, says she's related to ELVIS, but that it's because they share grandpas, 9th g-gr.pa for ETHEL, and 8th g-gr.pa for ELVIS, it goes like this, atleast when you see if the name your searching is related to someone famous: 9th G-Grandpa of ETHEL McCAIG-----8th G-Grandpa of ELVIS **WILLIAM POWELL** (THE LEFT COLUMN DOWNWARD) (THE RIGHT COLUMN DOWNWARD) his son, GEORGE POWELL his daughter,ALICE POWELL his daughter, AGNES POWELL her son, Robert Warren her daughter, AGNES COCKE His son, ROBERT WARREN her son, JOSEPH HARWOOD his son, S.JOHN WARREN his daughter, REBECCA HARWOOD his son, WILLIAM D. WARREN her daughter, MARY LONGBOTTOM his dtr.,MARY L. WARREN her daughter, JEAN McGEE her dtr., MINNIE MAE HOOD her son, JESSE McGEE her son, VERNON PRESLEY his son, WILLIAM McGEE his son, ELVIS PRESLEY his son, PINKNEY RAY McCAIG *why is Pinkneys' last name diff.? his daughter, ETHEL McCAIG **Now I know why the Genealogists should get the big bucks!!
