On Find A Grave.com they show 4 New Hope Cemeteries in and around Marion Co. How many are there?? I'm looking for location of New Hope Cemetery near Hamilton where Christopher Colombus Terry and his wife Josephine Daniels Terry are buried. Also Manscill family. When we visited several years ago (2001), there was a little white church on the grounds. Can someone help me here? Thanks! Here's GPS Coordinates from the Find A Grave site. I think the first three may be same cemetery, but I don't know!! GPS Coordinates: Latitude: 34.2278, Longitude: -87.9647 Map shows County Road 73, County Highway 129 Accessible from Highway 20 or 187. Burials: Allen Bishop, Clodie Colburn, etc GPS Coordinates: Latitude: 34.1911, Longitude: -87.6706 Map shows to be near intersection of CR 129 and Highway 19. No burials listed. GPS Coordinates: Latitude: 33.9806, Longitude: -87.82 Map shows it to be on New Hope Cemetery Road. Between Highway 160 and 61. Burials: J.M. Dickinson, Eva Emerson, Manerva Lewis, etc. GPS Coordinates: Latitude: 34.0019, Longitude: -87.8783 - Map shows Highway 44 and Scufflegrit Road. No burials listed. I have looked at these coordinates on Google Earth. The first two look like they may have a structure on the grounds that could be a church. Both structures are pretty good size. The first cemetery looks to have a couple of ponds on it and the second one does not. The Third on is very near New Hope but Google Earth does not show a structure on or near the grounds.
The Mt. Carmel Cemetery that I'm looking for listings of the cemetery is in Marion County, AL ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Old Manscill Cemetery is near Hamilton, from Hwy 25, going north, I believe you take Co. Hwy 138 to the left. Very hard to find. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Jimmie, We saw lots of people at the Decoration at Mt. Carmel, probably would have seen more but we left about lunch time to get something to eat on the way to Belmont City Cemetery where Odell and Anita are buried. How did your weekend go? We went to the hospital to see Aunt Eva on our way back. She was much better, but I heard that yesterday, she wasn't as well. Mother fell and tore ligaments in her rotator cup. The doctor doesn't want to do surgery if he can stop the pain, he is thinking of her age, she will be 88 years old in July. Would you send me the listings of Old Manscill Cemetery? Yes, there is only one grave with a name, Martha J. Manscill. Joel Palmer doesn't believe that Morning Dove is buried there. If you remember going to the Palmer Cemetery, there is one grave near Russell Porter and Morning Dizenie that has the same rock covering as theirs. Joel says he believes that is Morning Dove's grave. Who would go to that much trouble with covering a grave, if they were not family? Can you get the listings of people buried in Mt. Carmel? I am having no luck in finding a list. With the help of Joel, we found my great grandparents John and Mary Palmer's grave this week. They are buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, and was hard to find because they have a single tomb with one of their names on one side and the other name on the other side. A beautiful tombstone, tall with etchings and extra writings. I'm guessing the tombstone is between the graves, they died about a month apart. Mary has a foot marker that looks as if it has never been in the ground. Wish you were here to enjoy my journey with me. Can you find me the names of William and Morning Dove's children? I found that they were married in Cherokee Nation, Tennessee. Does that town still exist? Love, Olva ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

This info. has been added to the Mormon Genealogical Library in the last year or so since Mr. Caudle sent me the original lists. Briefly, Ella Estill daughter of Isaac Estill, b. 1841, m. Matilda Clementile Wiley; Isaac's father was David King Estill, b. 1815; son of Isaac Estill b. 1793; son of Wallace Estill b, 1758, m. Jennie Wright; he was son of Wallace Estill, b. 1697; son of John Estill, b. 1671; son of Thomas Estelle, b. England, d, 1688; son of unknown Estill, b. York Co. England. This was just researched within the past two days, but if you go to the Mormon Genealogical Library and begin with Isaac Estill, b. 1841, and then through Jennie Wright, who married Wallace Esteill, b. 1758, you can extend the line down to 1490 with Nicholas Wright, who married Anne Beaupre. Then proceeding through the Beaupre line to Richard Beaupre, b.1327, his father John Fitzgilbert, son of Gilbert Fitzwarren extends to at least 1270. I'm still working on that line. Thomas Estill, b. 1623, was son of Balthazar D'Estell of Provence France, son of Jean Andre D'Estell, ca. 1480. My apologies for the lack of organization as I have not fully compiled what I have in front of me; trying to trace several different family lines. But it's lots of fun and if you haven't been to the Mormon Library you will have a treat, and all of this information is posted there. By jumping back and forth betweeen paternal and maternal lines sometimes it can extend much further than you realize. Good luck! I have scant information about Mourning Dove, except that her sister, Massy, married Moses Purser in 1815 in Wilson County, TN. WIlliam Mansil/Mansel/ etc. and Morning Dove, along with Moses and Massy, migrated to AL in the winter of 1835, settling in Marion County. Moses applied twice for land grants there. He and Massy are buried at New Hope Church near Hamilton in Marion County, I believe your great great-grandparents are buried there also. Moses was the brother of my great great great-grandfather, David Purser, 1797, NC-1832, NC. >From: BamaGramma@aol.com >Reply-To: almarion@rootsweb.com >To: ALMARION-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [ALMARION] Morning Dove: >Date: Sat, 19 May 2007 21:48:54 EDT > >I have been reading a lot of messages about Morning Dove (Mourning Dove). >My >great, great grandmother is Morning Desina, her mother was Morning Dove >(White) Mansell.
