In the 1900 Marion County, Alabama census is the following: In the household of William Moncrief and his wife, Vina is Judie A. Harris, mother-in-law. She is an 80 year old, white female. She is a widow. She was born in Mississippi. Her parents were born in South Carolina. She has had 15 children. Can anyone tell me who Judie's husband was? Any information is appreciated. I believe Joshua's father was the first Nichols to come to Marion County. Joshua's brother William Hedgepath Nichols left a lot of descendants in Marion County, altho he died in TN - during the civil war, I think. My great grandmother, Annie Loyd, who m Ben Williams had a sister, Matilda, who married James Nichols, a son of Wm Hedgepath and Mary Claxton Smith Nichols. For graves of William and Morning Dove go to this website Find A Grave: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=25155 . This shows William and Morning Dove are buried at Old Manscill Cemetery in Marion Co. The website does not tell where the cemetery is located though. Not sure if this will help or not, but there are several Manscill's buried at New Hope Cemetery (also known as New Hope Freewill Baptist Cemetery) off of CR 29. Names of Manscill's at this cemetery: Coy, Josephine, G.S. (Gabel), Q.D. (Della). Maybe Manscill different spelling of Mansell. Don't know parents of GS or Josephine. Millie Manscill married Fratus F. Terry. This Terry family is in my husband's Terry/Garner line.
