Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RS.2ADE/1208.1 Message Board Post: My mother was a Wylie and I have been to the Wylie cemetary many times. It is located in Marion County between Haleyville and Hamilton in the Wylie Branch area. It isn't too far from the Old Bethel Church. It is located on top of a low hill behind a house. You can't see it from the road so you would have to stop and ask people where to go.

    1. Ida Raburn Godsey 1904-1975
    2. Jenny Garner
    3. Ida Raburn was the daughter of William Harvey Raburn and Sarah Ann McCaig. She was born Sept 8, 1904 and died October 31, 1955 or 1975. (Which death year is correct?) Tombstone in Union Hill Cemetery in Hackleburg shows 1975. She married Alex Godsey. Question: Who is this Alex Godsey and who are his parents? There was a John Calvin Godsey who married Lula Josephine "Josie" Garner and had a son named James Alexander Godsey, but he was born in 1921. Is this the same family of Godsey's or no relation? Any help here would be appreciated! Thanks! Jenny Garner jwgarner@texas.net

Nancy was born Sept 7, 1831 and died on Aug 15, 1917. The headstone was reads 1817 for the death year but was incorrectly etched by the stone maker. It should read 1917 not 1817. This is verified by the death certificate from the state and census records for Hinds County, MS for 1900 and 1910.

Love, Nancy y. Harper b.1853 no other record found,Thaddius W. Harper b.abt1855 (must be a Byars-Walker connection) ,Susannah F. Harper b.abt1858, Sarah was a widow from Civil War, the 1900 census says she had two more children, but the 20 year span of census omissions (1880-1900) children can be born and married and girls are impossible to find with marriage knowledge. Also, the 1870 census proves a lot of people avoided the 1870 census for fear of being found and killed by confederates, especially if you fought for the union. Most Northeast Alabama men fought for the union. Some of the Harpers were on both sides because of the Conscription Law. In other words"they were ! made" to fight for the Confederacy. I would greatly like to hear from anyone connected to James W. Harper. I will remit for your information. Mary Hanson
