I purchased the book directly from Heritage Publishing Consultants, Inc. PO Box 67 Clanton, AL 350046 1-800-568-1611 I'm not sure if they have more copies or not. My book is from the 2nd printing. It was purchased about 3-4 years ago. Robert F. Logan from Marion county had 7 sons in the 1st Alabama Calvalry-- the Greens--buried there with the Dickinsons had 2 sons-- I just think for that particular time and place in Civil War History that your loyalty to the Union or Confederacy was what defined you.

Dickinson's probate papers (1895-Marion county, Ala Wills and Probate) lists 2 children-Mary A. Dickinson Bostic--marrried to William Fletcher Bostic--They are buried in Ridge Cemetery in itawamba county Mississippi--If we could get her certificate--that would state her mother. and theirfore the wife of J.J. I have a lot from Andrew J. Huston's claim. His daughter married a Green. I think too that the Dickinson, Green, and Kemp families were neighbors, but the cemetery is on private land. Family cemeteries were on their own land. "Kin" was also concerning inlaws. I wish we could prove that John J. Dickinson, Jr. married Mary A. Kemp.

John J. Dickinson is buried in the Green family cemetery--men with him were with the Alabama 1st Cavalry of the Union. Much information can be found on these people in the Southern Claims Commission files--lots of witness testimony. I have the probate of John J. Dickinson--it's on microfilm--Marion county--wills/probate--1895

Just to clarify.... The William Quitman Northington I spoke of that is buried at the Ridge Cemetery in Itawamba Co., MS married 2nd: Sarah Rebecca Franks September 3, 1893 Marion Co., AL. There is an O.C. Northington that married Sarah Payne on February 4, 1892 Marion Co., AL...maybe that is who you found? Karen
Ken, Sorry, you said C. Northington's wife was Sallie..... Then he must not be Clint Northington, son of W.Q. I jumped the gun. Karen

According to the Marion County Heritage Book he is buried at the Hamiliton City Cemetery. I searched the cemetery for about a hour and a half and never did find him. I found a C. Northington and his wife Sallie B. and several of their children. They were buried along with some Bosticks in the same area close to the road that runs on the left side of the cemetery. Ken, Maybe you found the grave of Clint Atkins Northington and wife, Della Bostick? Of course this could just be a name coincidence, but there is a William Quitman Northington and wife, Sarah buried at the Ridge Cemetery in north Itawamba County, MS. Now this cemetery is very close to the county lines of Tishomingo County, MS and Franklin Co., AL. 1 [1] William Quitman Northington b: 1858 in AL d: 1929 Burial: Ridge Cemetery, Itawamba Co., MS .. *2nd Wife of [1] William Quitman Northington: .. +Sarah R. ? b: 1874 in AL m: 1894 d: 1952 Burial: Ridge Cemetery, Itawamba Co., MS I show Clint Northington (listed above) as a son of W.Q. and first wife, Emily Owens. Is this the W.Q. you are looking for? Karen
