Could someone help me out that has access to Marion County research? I am looking for information on Myrtle Melvinney Garner, daughter of Charlie Garner, and Ethel Cox. She was married to Elmer H. Logan. I know she was married to someone else after Elmer passed away with their son Hobert in a truck vs. Train accident. Vinney and Elmer were my grandparents, and my mother passed away when I was born 30 years ago. I am hoping someone can help me, if more information is needed, please ask, I might have it. Thanks Chad Baker Clinton, Iowa

My aunt by marriage was Pearl Harbin Mitchell, deceased. She is listed on the 1930 Franklin County, AL census, age 20, in the household of her parent's James Harbin, b. AL, age 64 and mother Senora, age 60. Several other Harbins are listed in Franklin County. Hi Rex, my gg-grandma was Sarah Elizabeth Lawrence, b. 1853, m. James M. Coon. She was the daughter of Mary Virginia Godsey and Milton Lawrence. Her 2nd marriage was to Wm Robt Mann. If you think this is the Lawrence family you are looking for, I'll try to dig out my records on them. What is the time frame for your grandmother? There are many Bulls listed on the 1850 Marion Co. census. I think I had a cousin, Margie Cochran who married a Whitworth. I also have a 3xgreatgrandma who was Mary Francis Wright. She married Jesse Hallmark. John, Your John is my greatuncle. He is my grandfather's brother. Our cousin, Elisa Sanford has tons of information on this line of Cardens. John and Mary are her grandparents. Small world! There is also a Carden forum on Rootsweb. We have lots of relatives there. I believe Elisa is still on the ALMARION forum too, so hopefully, she will be in touch with you. I have since lost contact with him when he changed his e-mail address. Or stopped working on his line. But I do want to make sure he is credited for the information that he gave me. If I can help you please let me know. I am researching the Nichols and Bean lines from Al could you send me you info looking for John C Nichols or Rachel Bean DENNIS NICHOLS NICHOLS, BEAN , PENNINGTONS
I am looking for any Harbins or Halls in Marion County area. Have you run across in your searchs? Some of them moved over to Ponotoc area in MS, but most remained in AL and I have not found the area where they were. The Harbins migrated from England to MA and then to SC to GA and then AL. But I can't seem to find the home town in AL. Any help greatly appreciated. Sue
I'm interested in information on the Lawrences. My grandmother was a Lawrence( Sylvania) and I have very little background on her. She was married to John Howard Bull. Had a sister in Hackleburg named Annie whom was married to a Whitworth. Had a brother named John, which appears to be a common name among Lawrences. Thanks Rex Bull, Shelton, Carpenter, Burroughs, Wright, Downs, Gunter, Flurry
People are probably tired of reading about this over and over but I wanted to throw something out to everyone with ancestors in and around the Marion Co., AL area. I know at one time, they were having difficulty getting people to send in their family tree sheets or other information about their families and they can't publish something they don't have. I think the $15.00, or whatever it is we pay, is to be a member of the Gen. Society and the "Tracks" was just one of the perks of belonging. However, I'm sure most people only joined in order to get the Tracks. I would like to recommend if they do start publishing it again we all send in our family information so they have something to print . Even if they increased their fees by $5.00 that would still be a bargain to be able to have access to all of the information, providing we supply them with it. I agree, why not put it on-line if the funds exist, at least it would save the postage. Glenda McWhirter Todd McWhirter, Whitehead, Smith, Shaw, Gann, Miller, Byrd/Bird, and many more. > >

I was born in Hackleburg. I know some of the family intermarried with the Stidhams and Burlesons (I am a little fuzzy on which ones) .
