Have not worked on this family in a while but am determined to prepare some sort of record of my research for my husband’ family. His line lived in Marengo County, Alabama. One of their sons, Aubery Benton Beverly (1888-1974), married the former Patti Janette Lisenbe (1890-1942), and in 1829 they came to Grimes County, Texas. They had four sons, Robert Seale Beverly (1915-2001), Alton Benton Beverly (1918-1978), Sherwood Earl Beverly (1920-1991), and A. E. “Buddy” Beverly (1922-2013). Two sons had been left behind: little Nathan Curran (1913-1916) who had died of diphtheria, and the oldest son, Palmer Franklin Beverly (1910-2000) who was working in Alabama but latter followed to Texas. While living in Grimes County, a seventh son, my husband, Murphy Travis Beverly was born in Bedias in 1930. Believe the Beverly/Beverley family came from England to Virginia and is from the line of Major Robert Beverley; a son, John Beverley survived and did not “die young” as McGill states in his book From Anson Co NC to AL. Beverly men married into the Huguenot line of Agee and other lines. Would especially like to contact descendants of Aubery B. Beverly’s brother William Franklin Beverly (1891-1962) md. to Naomi Etheridge. References:The Beverley Family of Virginia and Allied Families by John McGill (privately published, 1956).
