Until about 1818, many white settlers listede "home" as Madison County, AL, (the only legal county in the bend of the Tennessee River), or in GA, TN, or MS. Neither Thomson nor Thompson was listed on the Dec 1810 Doublehead petition, covering the area of Florence, Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia, etc. Good luck, Al Hill
