Hi Stephanie, I see that you are researching the surname Brown. My grate grandfather was John Andrew Brown who I suspect may have lived in Madison County, Alabana in the late 1800's. He was married to Margaret Kathleen Mooney. The last known place of residence was Kelso Tennessee when my grandmother, Rena May Brown, was born October 23, 1881. They had the following children: Elizabeth, Ella, Willie (female), Mattie, Almey (male), John and Rena May. I believe they may have lived in Madison County before my grandmother was born. My grandmother who married Barny Lyman Hoover, lived just north of Hazel Green, in Madison County. Wondered if these Brown's might connect with yours.
