Hi, Just returned from SLCity, after finding a great lead on my Amos Roberson, Robertson or Robinson (different sources have different spellings). The book we needed was not on the shelves at the library, and we are hoping to find someone who has access to it. There should be more info. on the Cherokees who received land, and I am hoping to get a Cherokee name for Amos. At least a lead. Can't do anything without, and it seems that the Cherokees adopted English names at the time they received their reservations. Amos received 640 acres from the government in Marshall Co, AL, and my Andrew Ice from Madison Co. married Eliza, who might just be dau. of Amos. We find references to the reservation of Amos, and that Eliza was connected. Found info. in a land record. Sure need help with this. Thanks for any! Carol
