Someone asked me about the following msg on the Sharp's and I cannot locate the msg or put it in a folder that I cannot find. The following message was to try and verify my John Sharp and Martha Young that were born in Penn and were of a different lineage and the ones in VA and MD. So the following is on the Sharp lineage out of Va and Md: "There were two lines of Sharp families in Mecklenburg County, Va. Some research has been done on each of them, but the other line is more extensive than the information given to you. (I do not understand who the information was given to.) The other line tracked each of the lines to keep them separated. They established both lines came from Cecil County, MD. Both lines married into the Alexander family." Quoting from the records: OTHER SHARPS IN MECKLENBURG. We mentioned earlier that a sister of the Alexander brothers who came from Cecil County, MD to Mecklenburg, had three sons who were about the same age as the sons of Edward Sharp. They were named John Sharp who married a Martha Young and later moved to Rutherford County, Tennessee. James Sharp who married a Rachel Cannon and moved to Tennessee. Ezekiel Sharp. (Seems as though they have no info on E.Sharp). Care has to be taken in examining the Sharp records of Mecklenburg to make a distinction between the two families. The information found on John and Martha (Young) Sharp were in Rutherford County, Tennessee enabled the researcher to find the tombstone of John and Martha Sharp. With that information it shows that the John Sharp and Martha (Young) Sharp that were born in Pa, moved to Ky, Tenn. then to Madison County, Alabama are not one in the same.
