My earliest Madison County ancestor, James WALKER, came to the Mississippi Territory from Blount Co., TN in about 1808. His wife was Margaret REED and their children were James, Robert, Samuel, William, John, Anna and Margaret. We don't know what happened to Robert, but James and Samuel stayed in Madison County and had large families. James Walker died in 1817. In the early 1840's, William and John moved to Union Co., Arkansas. Daughters Anna and Margaret eventually settled in Limestone Co., AL. Anna married (1) Benjamin HARRISON and (2) Kinchen PILANT. Margaret married Markham Marshall COFFMAN. The maiden names of the sons' wives were JONES, BUCKNER, BARNES, DAVIS and MOORE.
