COWAN, JOHN EDWARD "EDD" thought to be born in Hollywood, Jackson, AL abt 1894-6. He would be the son of Alice Virginia "Allie" Baker and ______. Allie was the daughter of John W. and AnnaEliza Thomas Baker who moved from Hollywood to Milam Co., Tx abt 1894. Who and what happened to the father of this child? Was there a legal father? In 1955 my grandmother filed a statement with a Texas County Clerk that Edd Cowan was born Jan 1 1894, and was taken into his grandmother home, because of the death of his mother in 1900. He was called Edd Baker but no court action was taken. This would correspond with the census and explain why the grandmother suddenly had one more child in 1900. I can find no information on Edd, I assume because of the Cowan/Baker name exchange. Can someone tell me anything? Sandy Walker [email protected]
