    3. Saw a message about October 1 from Barbara Ray saying the oldest Alabama ancestor she was researching was James WALKER. Barb named children but without dates. I would appreciate more information from Barb or anyone else about the WALKERS, as one of my oldest Alabama ancestors is Baldwin/Baldon/Boldin HOWARD, who supposedly witnessed James WALKER'S will 27 February 1817 and was a witness to the probate 20 March 1824. Baldwin also came from eastern (Sullivan Co?) Tennessee, sometime between 1812 and 1817. Baldwin lived in or near New Market, and is probably buried in a nearby cemetery. I am also interested in the following people who married Baldwin's children: CANON, David, m. Esther R. Howard 12 Aug 1831 CARLTON, Lucinda C. m. Michael HOWARD 26 Jul 1837 COFFMAN, Lorell/Lovell m. Catherine HOWARD 14 Nov 1820 HENDRIX, David S. m. Malinda J. HOWARD 23 Oct 1859 JONES, Seaborn m. Mary HOWARD about 1826 LANDRETH/LANDRITH, Thomas m. Hannah A. HOWARD 10 Jun 1821 MALONE, Martha m. William HOWARD 6 Jan 1836 OLIVER, Charley A.L.R. m. Margaret HOWARD 4 Dec 1817 PATILLO/PATILLA, James m. Lavinia HOWARD 11 Aug 1828 ROGERS, Whitfield W. m. Emily HOWARD 28 Oct 1824 TAYLOR, Shadrick/Shadwick m. Temperance HOWARD 6 Jun 1839 WEAVER, Catherine m. John HOWARD 6 Jul 1825 All marriages supposedly took place in Madison County except that of David S. HENDRIX to Malinda HOWARD which supposedly took place in Jackson County. Would appreciate suggestions for research as well as direct information. Also suggestions for getting information in/on Jackson County, for which I can find no on-line presence. Will be happy to exchange any information I have. Hayes Hendricks
