    3. Seeking information on Robert S. Stephenson of Madison County age 39 in 1860. He and his wife Susan F. Stephenson age 30 in 1860 were born in TN.,probably Giles County,TN. Their children were born in Alabama. They were James B. Stephenson b. 1849 and Sarah A. E. Stephenson b. 1851. This Robert S. Stephenson is believed to be the son of Samuel John Robert Stephenson and Mary Shields. Robert S. Stephenson is believed to be the son of Samuel John Robert Stephenson b. 1795 in York County S.C. and Mary Shields Stephenson. In 1860 Samuel and Mary were living in Madison County,Alabama. Sarah A.E. Stephenson married someone with the surname name of Cole. An old Huntsville newspaper article claimed that Robert S. Stephenson,a resident of Huntsville for many years died in Wood County,TX. in 1881. His daughter Sarah Cole had preceded him in death and his wife Susan F. was living in McLennan County TX.(Waco,TX.,area) in 1886. Samuel's son,George Alexander Stephenson b. 1822 in Limestone County,Alabama married Elizabeth Sarah Perry in Giles County,in 1849. His son,William Alexander Stephenson married Dolly Darwin of Madison County,Alabama, in 1879. They had children William,Alice,and Elizabeth Stephenson. I know nothing about their children except that an Alice Stephenson was living in Huntsville in the 1940's. In 1880,George Alexander Stephenson age 58 and Elizabeth Perry age 53 were living in Limestone County,Al. Their daughter,Josephine b. 1859 died in 1883 and is buried in the Hudson Cemetery in Limestone. Daughter,Mary Sue Stephenson married Frank Monroe Hudson in Limestone in 1881. Elizabeth Stephenson b. 1869 later married Jefferson Davis Ratliff in Lamar County,TX. Son,Samuel Stephenson m. Betty Smith in Lamar. Also living with George was a Susan Glascoe or Glasgow age 40 in 1880 and daughter Mary 19. Susan husband's was a Lt. John Glasgow who died shortly after the Civil War ended. Sylvester Brown Stephenson,son of Samuel and Mary Shields m. Mary Holt and he died in Waxahachie,TX. in 1908. I found his petition for the Confederate Cross of Honor there and he wrote that he enlisted in Ward's Artillery in Huntsville in 1861. I have most of the pieces to the puzzle,but some of the pieces are missing. Any help is appreciated.
