Jane Ann GLOVER traveled to Texas with her father and married Albert BROWN in Travis Co. Tex. on 9 August 1848. On the 1860 Census R. Caroline and Charles H. GLOVER were living in the Albert BROWN residence. Albert and Jane's children were: Casander (Cassandra) D.S.M. (female) William John W. Annie Albert Sutton Judson Coke Charles H. GLOVER came to Texas with his father in about 1848 at the age of 14 years. He married a woman named Mahala according to the Robertson Co. 1880 Census: C.H. GLOVER m. 45 Mahala f. 32 Henry E. m. 6 William S. m. 5 Charles S. m 2 Thomas B. m.10 months In 1873 in Bastrop Co. Tex., a son, Henry E., was born to Charles H. and Mahala GLOVER. No marriage has yet been found in Travis or Bastrop Counties. Martha Glover GLOVER came to Texas with her father in about 1848 at the age of 14 years; and in 1854 married James Francis WOOD in Webberville Travis Co. Texas. James WOOD was the brorher of William A. WOODS (yes). The children of James Francis and Martha Glover WOOD (My gg-grandparents) were: All were born in Webberville except Lee Edgar born in Clarksville, Red River Co. TX Can not locate James Francis WOOD or William A. WOODS on 1870 Census. Lousia WOODS, Widow and James Francis back on Bastrop/Travis Co. Census 1880. Webberville is on county line. George Washington b. 1855** (his son Ernest Marion is my g-father) James Francis.....b. 1856 William Monroe....b. 1860 Mary Elen.........b. 1863 Henry Edwin.......b. 1866 Lee Edgar.........b. 1870 Mattie Lou........b. 1872 Walter Wallace....b. 1875 On the 1880 census Travis Co. Texas Caroline Glover 36 years old, spinster was living with her brother in law and sister. **George Washington's youngest son G.W. WOOD is still living and has James Frances WOOD's bible. G.W. (age 86 still active and very alert) brought the Bible to the WOOD family reunion on Padre Island, Texas,in July of 1998. I was able to scan about half of it and will do the rest this fall. There are about 25-30 pages recording births, deaths, and marriages By James Francis WOOD until his death in 1921. He was living with G.W. at the time of his death and gave the bible to G.W. WOOD. G.W. has continued to record family matters since then. Francis GLOVER b. 1839 Madison Co. Ala., came to Texas with his father and is the last child of Jane Craft GLOVER. He served in the same Confederate unit as his brother Charles H. GLOVER. This is all I have; suspect he changed his name to Frank. R. Caroline GLOVER, the first child of Sarah L. VANN and Silas M. GLOVER was born in Madison Co. Ala. on 10 Jul 1844. She came to Texas with her father. (She is buried in the Old Manor Cemetery, Bastrop Co. TX. Tombstone has date of birth as 1846; this is incorrect. She never married. Sarah Catherine GLOVER, the next to last child of Sarah L.VANN and Silas M. GLOVER was born in Madison Co. Ala in 1846. She came to Texas with her father in 1848. She married Thomas STANDEFORD, 19 Dec, 1968 . Albert Brown, her Uncle performed the ceremony. In 1879 they were living in Williamson Co. Texas. L. Benjamin T. GLOVER (was he Lazarus Benjamin Thomas???), the youngest child of Sarah L.VANN and Silas M. GLOVER was born in 1847 in Ala. In 1850 he was living with his fayher; in 1860 he was living with William J. VANN in Llano Co., Texas and in 1860 he was living with them in Burnet Co. Texas. He has not been found in the 1870 Census. He married Ella HART date unknown in Bastrop Co. Texas. Silas Merser GLOVER married Susan CAMPBELL, in Travis Co. Texas on 20 Nov. 1850. He had one additional daughter before his death. Mary GLOVER, b. 1851, Travis Co., Texas. Mary never married.
