My ancestor, Peter Ragsdale (1798-1860) mustered in to Col. Higgins / Capt. Etheridge's Company in Madison Co., Mississippi Territory (later Alabama) in 1813 and mustered out 3 months later on 1814. Does anyone know of this company and where it was know where this company was formed and the area most of those joining were from. If not, do you know of any resources that described that info? I'm trying to see if this information can give me a clue where Peter Ragsdale was living when he mustered in at the ripe age of 15 when he "substituted for his father" (name NOT given) as detailed in his 1851 Bounty Land Warrant application. Does anyone know if their might be enlistment records from 1813-14 showing who Peter substituted for?
