Have posted my lineage before to the mailing list the following is what I have: 1. Generation James D. Morrison b. 1822/23 Georgia d. 1863/64 St. Clair Co., Al. have been told he died during the Civil War and or Prisoner in Union Prison. Have search the units that were formed from and around St. Clair but have not been able to find. James Married Ruth Staten (Layton/Leyton) b. abt 1830/35 ( Marriage Record, Census 1850-70 has her birth date at different yrs.) James Married Rutha 2 Nov 1848 Carroll Co., Ga. The marriage book in the Huntsville Library for Carroll Co., Ga list a Rutha Staten as who James Married, but there is a lady in St. Clair Co., Al say Rutha was a Leyton/Layton. Have not been able to find a Leyton/Layton marriage. All information that I have found which is in Census state that my Granddad Joshua C. Morrison parents were borne in SC. Have been trying to verify the marriage of James D. to a Rutha CHILDREN William Morrison b. 1850 Ga. d. Amanda Sarah Morrison b. 1853 Ga d. Jane Morrison b. 1856 Alabama ( James and Rutha moved to Alabama after 1853) James M. Morrison b. 1858 Al John Byrd Morrison 27 Aug 1860 St. Clair Co., Al d. 1935 Greenville, Hunt Co., Tx buried McWright Cem Joshua C. Morrison b. 1863 St.Clair Co., Al ( This is based on his marriage license to Mary J. Worley Sep 1882 in Lincoln Co., Al. Joshua and Mary Morrison are my Grandparents. Not much is known about my Granddad from 1863 to 1882. His father died before he was borned in 1863. Rutha remarried 8 Nov 1866 at the age of 31 and married a Thomas Skinner age 18 they had a daughter Georgiann Skinner b. 1867 in Al. Rutha died about 1875 and Thomas remarried 5 Sep 1876 to Minerva Omah Ann Morrison, daughter of Andrew Jackson and Margaret Peppers Morrison. Georgiann died 1947 Hunt Co., Tex buried in Hart Cemetary. 2nd Generation: The following is all the information and is on Joshua C. Morrison Joshua C. Morrison b. 1863 St.Clair Co., Al d. 1942 Plevna, Tenn buried Forrester Cememetary on State Line Road. Married Mary J. Worley b. 1857/61 Cherokee Co., Ga d. 1920 Plevna Tenn. Their Children were: Allen J. Morrison b. 1888 Tenn d. 1957 buried Maple Hill Cemetary, Huntsville, Al Married Elver Campbell William Holbert Morrison b.1890 Tenn d. 1937 Madison County, Al Parrott Walker Columbus Edmond Morrison b. 1892 Tenn d. 1971 Madison Co., Al Mary Birdie Sharp If any of the above makes a light come on please furnish info, for it will ge greatly appreciated.
