Mary ,age 18, b. AL. John ,age 16, b. AL. Sylvester ,age 13 b. AL. John could be "Jeff" Stephenson,1833-1886, who is buried,along with some of my Stephensons, in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Madison County,AL. Do any Madison County,Alabama newspapers go back to 1886? I noticed that a John Thomas Stephenson received the Cross of Honor in Madison County,AL for his participation as a soldier in the 32nd Tennessee Infantry. Does the Sons of Confederate Veterans have any records on John Thomas Stephenson? I went to the library in Waxahachie,TX. and found that Sylvester Brown Stephenson joined Ward's Artillery in Madison County,AL. in 1861. A Mary Stephenson married William Buchanan in Limestone County,AL. in 1879. Samuel Stephenson b. 1795 is last found on the census of Madison County,AL. in 1860. Any help is appreciated!
