Hi, For many years we have been searching for ancestors of William Henry RAY. According to oral family history, he was born in Huntsville, AL ca. 1820 where his father died when he (William) was young; she re-married. Shortly thereafter, she died, and her widower (William's step-father) remarried. Thus, William had a step-father and a step-mother. According to the story; the step-father beat William, and after one such beating when William was very young, he ran away to MS. In MS he married, fathered one child, and died around 1845. We have no information concerning his parents and do not know whether he had any siblings. If anyone has any information on this family, we would be very happy to receive it.
