The 1840 Madison Co census has just been posted along with the 1830 census at http://www.rootsweb.com/~cenfiles/al/madison/ John Thurman is listed with no Whites, 2 colored males age 10-24 and 1 colored male age 24-36. There are no slaves listed. One person is listed as being employed in manufacturing. You did not give apage number and we do not yet have our search engine up, so I will advise you to look up the Dines families in the 1830 Census posted there. Hope this helps. Earnie R. According to the 1840 census, there was a Thurman family on page 168 living in Madison Co Alabama. Does anyone know who this Thurman family was? And any information on John Dines and his family would be appreciated. In the 1830 Madison Co Ala census, there were two Dines households listed. Any information would be appreciated. > > Thanks > > Deborah Thurman Parks > > > ============================== > Visit Ancestry's Library - The best collection of family history > learning and how-to articles on the Internet. > http://www.ancestry.com/learn/library >
