    3. Dr. John Roland Hardin, born 1827, Lincoln County, TN to James and Dicy (Jenkins) Hardin; died 1896 in Madison County, AL.; buried at Clay Cemetery at Princeton, Jackson County, AL. I think he may have lived close to New Market, Madison County, AL and may have been in business making wagons in the early 1880's and 1890's. He was married 1st to Mary Ann Hardin, a cousin, in 1850 Franklin County, TN, they divorced, John Roland Hardin married 2nd to Lizzie Williams about 1866/67. They had at least 8 children: 6 names were: William Hardin married Emma Parcus; Thomas Hardin married Pearl Ricketts; Moses Hardin married Clara Baker, Obediah Hardin married cousin Jessie May Hardin, Mamie Hardin married Will Rollins; Demie Hardin married 1st Ed Graham, 2nd Bob Allen. Need any info on any of these families. Thanks a million Jewel

    1. ASHWORTH/FOWLER
    2. William ASHWORTH and Bell FOWLER were married at her father's home in Huntsville in Sept. 1882. On a note signed by her father, giving permission for her marriage, attached to marriage certificate his initials appear to be J. T. or J. F. This indicates that she was under legal age, so I am guessing her birthdate c. 1867. These families moved pretty freely between Lincoln Co., TN and Madison Co., AL. In census searches to identify Bell's parents the only thing I have found is the following in the 1880 Best 10, Madison Co.: J. T. FOWLER 48 b. AL (farmer) Fa: SC Mo: SC Cynthia C. wife 35 GA GA GA MARIA B. dau 15 TN William D. son 8 TN Could this Maria B. be Bell? Willaim Ashworth and Bell Fowler were parents of the following: Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie) b. 1883 Willie Belle 1884 Edna 1888 James 1889 A. C. (son) 1893 Sometime after the birth of their youngest son in 1893 and the 1900 census, Bell Fowler died, as William ASHWORTH is listed as Widower. His occupation was Blacksmith. I have documented the lives and burial sites of all these except the son A. C. for whom I have found no records. I haven't been able to find a date of death or burial site for William. I have been searching for 4 years for the parents of Bell and her place of burial. Can anyone out there offer a clue? Many thanks, Rose Adams radams505@aol.com

I doubt I can be of help. My great aunt Effie Simmons Shelton did most of the research on the Campbells in the 70's. She died in 93 after a long time in nursing home. She had lots of notes, but as of she had not children alot of things were thrown away. Sad. I have what she has starting with William B. and descending. None beyond him though. I had wondered too about the connections with the Wm and Lydia. As I had run upon it. There were so many correlations to them and my Wm. B. My family seems to be right here at the line of TN ~ AL. Around the Plevna area. Enjoyed reading what you have compiled on the Campbells, wish that I could help, but I doubt I could add to it. I will go back thru my records to make sure. 3. Campbell Cousins I am sending this out in hopes that, this information will get to someone who can help the rest of us poor Campbells of this line, fill in the blanks The Family of John Campbell In the early 1800's John Campbell arrived in Jackson County from Virginia where he was born in about 1779. On May 17, 1819 he married AneyWebster in Madison country in the Alabama Territory and moved to Tennessee shortly thereafter. They then moved back to Alabama and we find them in Madison and Jackson county. We do not know for sure what county they were in, while living in Tenn. but there is a strong indication that they were going back and forth between Madison and Jackson counties in Ala. and Lincoln and Franklin counties in Tenn. John and Aney had 7 children that we know of for sure, but there are thought to be many more and another wife as well. You figure John was 40 yrs old or plus when he married Aney Webster. 1. John R. Charles Lee Simmons Bn. 24/Jan/1868 Dd. 13/Jan/1948 The above sons of John Campbell and Aney Webster, if you will notice all named their fist born son (WILLIAM), now if we are going by nameing patturns, then their grandfather and John's father's name is more than likely William. Lets take a look at the Williams in the areas they lived in at the time in Alabama. These are the William Campbells that were in the Lincoln Co., TN, Madison and Jackson Co., AL area. The last William Campbell was a Revolutionary War soldier and did not come to this area, but his wife and some of his children did. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- William B. 1. GRAHAM-HARDING
    2. Jewel Casey
    3. I have been trying for several years now to find out the parents of John Edward Graham, born about 1875 in Jackson or Madison County, AL. He married Margaret Demie Harding about 1895 in AL. Margaret Demie Harding was the daughter of Dr. John Roland and Lizzie (Williams) Harding. Dr. John Roland Harding died in Jackson County, AL and is buried at Clay Cemetery there. Have no idea where his wife Lizzie is buried. John Edward Graham and Margaret Demie (Harding) Graham were divorced before 1900 or he died, know which. They had 2 children (1) Verna Graham, born about 1896, AL married Robert Jones, lived at Princeton, Jackson County, AL in early 1940's. (2) Charles Herbert Graham 30 May 1898-24 Nov. 1986. Margaret Demie (Harding) Graham married Robert Lee Allen in 1900 and raised a family of 5 or 6 children. Would appreciate any information on John Edward Graham and wondering if he was called Squire John Graham in his early lifetime. Thanks a million. Jewel

    2. Yesterday, I received a reply to my query about Brooks/Garrett. Unfortunately, I was unable to open the download, as my Norton anti-virus warned me that it contained a worm virus. Since Madison County rootsweb is the only place I put my query, I am certain the reply came from someone on the list, who probably doesn't know they have a virus. Peggy Nerren Grisamore

    2. I am a descendant of the Brooks family of Madison County, Alabama. I am trying to get in touch with Gay Cushing Campbell of Woodville, AL. I was told that she is an officer with Tennessee Valley Genealogical Society that publishes Valley Leaves. I do not have an e-mail address for her, and I do not know her husband's name which makes it impossible to get her phone number. I'm certain she and I are related. If someone can help in anyway I would appreciate it. Peggy Nerren Grisamore PEKIPAN@aol.com

    1. WRIGHT, BELLER, CAMPBELL
    2. i am really at a dead end here. i am seeking the families of richard WRIGHT, b. abt. 1797 in VA (or NC), and his wife prisa, b. abt. 1800 in TN. this family was almost certainly in madison co., AL 1818-1827. they then moved to arkansas, first to washington co., then later to carroll/boone co. they were joined by other TN/AL families...the BELLERS, the CAMPBELLS, the WILBURNS, possibly the ALLENS. these families had very close ties and constantly intermarried. the name "allen" was frequently used as a given name for the boys, and "allena" for the girls. i would appreciate any information on this line. please post response here or email me at okmitzi@aol.com. THANKS!
