    1. WWI Draft Cards
    2. I got a copy of my grandfather's WWI draft card from the National Archives branch in Georgia several years ago. I guess they still have them there. I think that branch is located in Atlanta, but can't remember now. I think the address in St. Louis is for WWII, only if your WWII vet had a medical record. Since the WWII records burned, the only records they have of those vets is the ones who had medical problems. Jane Vining

    1. Query of WWI,
    2. lewatkins
    3. Would someone please lookup a WWI personal record or tell me where I can write besides the Natl. Personnel Records Ctr. in St. Louis, MO. I've sent two # 180 forms filled out with all the info I can find on my uncle's ( dad's bro.) service-I don't have much but do have a copy of his draft card, his parents names & the dates. I sent one to St Louis in Feb. 2001 & one in Dec. 2001 thinking that maybe it might be misplaced or lost. Is there a place in Jackson Co. Al. besides the court house-I've been there- that would have his records. Please, if you have gotten your ancesters record, e-mail & give me the address of where I can get one....Mary lewatkins@farmerstel.com

    1. HAZEL GREEN
    2. To all of you who were kind enough to respond to my inquiry about Hazel Green Cemeteries. Information I received re MARY TALITHA ASHWORTH said she died ca1847 and was buried Hazel Green. That may just refer to the locality, rather than the name of a cemetery. I have been searching for some time for the burial site of BELL FOWLER ASHWORTH who d. between 1892 and 1900 in Madison Co. I thought she might have been buried in the same cemetery. I would appreciate hearing from anyone re the ASHWORTH name. Thanks for any help. Rose Adams

Was known to have lived in or around Sewanee or Cowan, TN in mid 1911. Could have lived in ALA before or after that.My grdmother never mentioned him much since they were never married so I don't know his given first name. She & dad are now deceased. 3. This was posted to another list I am on. I thought I had already sent it to this list. Sorry! ======================= "One of my friends attended a fraud presentation by our FRAUD department at ***** Recently this friend was a victim of identity theft. While she was in this presentation, the instructor told her about a web site criminals use to obtain information about you. The website is www.anybirthday.com This web site has your name, zip code and birthday. Your birth date is a helpful tool for criminals to steal your identity. I pulled up my name and it had my full name, correct birth date, gender and zip code. I was able to delete this information from the website by clicking on the FAQ section, then click on the privacy section. I recommend that you go to this site and DELETE your information from their data base. Remember to check ALL versions of your name .. Check your nickname, maiden and your given name. Also, if you pull your listing, make sure to put in the date the same way that they do."

    3. Where would I look to find more information on Jacobs, William R.,who was the Officers Cook in the Civil War unit of Capt. Thomas H. Owen's Company 37TH TENNESSEE INFANTRY COMPANY E. How can I find out if this was a Confederate or Union company? How can I find out if William Jacobs might have been granted a veteran pension. Would there be a description of the individual? Thank you. marta 37TH TENNESSEE INFANTRY COMPANY E Capt. Thomas H. Owen's Company was organized in 1861 and was originally comprised almost entirely of men from the southeastern part of Madison Co., Alabama and particularly the communities of Owens Cross Roads, Berkley, and Vienna(New Hope). As the State of Alabama was not prepared to arm the unit, the company on October 8, 1861, was mustered as Company E into the 37th Tennessee Infantry Regiment <clip>

    2. Cindy Stiene
    3. Another potential source is monument company records. I was very lucky to have made contact with an individual who recorded all the old records for a monument company in my mother's home county before the records were destroyed by the new owners of the company. She was able to tell me what cemeteries family members were buried and when. Good luck with your search. Cindy Stiene
