    2. Any mention of a Giles family in the Madison County History book? I know that the line Im working on moved to Texas (Ellis County) in the late 1800's but perhaps there are some still there related to the same ancestor. Thanks for your time! Marla in Las Vegas

I don't have an "official" answer to your question, but Alabama became a state in 1819 and didn't have a statewide public school system until much later. The schools that existed in 1820-1840 were mostly private schools. Angela

    1. RE: SCRUGGS
    2. Hello, I am researching Levi SCRUGGS, from Huntsville, Alabama, Madison County. He was born around 1846, he was a Barber, he was married to Mattie (Marty). They had five (5) children: Frank H., Ellen, Minnie, Ollie, and Zan (Zannie). All were born in Huntsville, Alabama. Mattie died sometime between 1878 and before the 1880 Census were taking, because Levi SCRUGGS was listed as a widower on the 1880 Census records. Also, they were living on Rison Street during this time. Does anyone know anything about this family? I would love to hear from someone who just might be researching the same family/surname. Thanks for any help you can provide........ Sandy [email protected]

    2. A few days ago, I sent out an email, trying to focus attention on the Happy99.exe worm virus. I sent an hyperlink for people to read about it. It wasn't my attentions to make people think they were receiving the virus. I just wanted everyone to understand more on it. I still receive that attachment daily, and a lot of people do not realize that its an worm attachment, and you don't even realize it is attached to your outgoing mail, once you have DOWNLOADED and OPENED the Happy99.exe . It seems my email has been circulating through other lists, questioning who I was etc. You can not get a virus just by READING email. It has to be an attachment that you have downloaded and opened. I am sorry if this has caused you problems. Deanie Humphrey
