    2. Help! My problem is finding information on Robert Lanford. He was from Louisa County, Virginia the son of William Lanford and Elizabeth? His first wife was Patsy Bond and his second wife was Ann Catherine Burgestiner. He arrived to Huntsville, Alabama with LeRoy Pope and is said to have built the second cabin in the area. He had one son survive from his first marriage to Patsy Bond. His second marriage produced two daughters, Caroline Matilda Lanford (my ancestor) and Martha Ann Catherine Lanford. The two sisters married two brothers named McCalley from Virginia. All of them remained in Huntsville, Madison County. I will be grateful for any help I am looking for the names of Robert's family from Virginia other than his father and for information on Ann Catherine Burgestiner... Thanks in advance... 1. Shoemaker, John A
    2. Ray Shoemaker
    3. Hi folks, I'm new to the list, and so here comes the usual plea for help! :-) My brick wall is my g, g grandfather John Anthony Shoemaker, b 6-18-1818, AL (Miss Terr), not sure what county. I know there were quite a few Shoemakers living in Limestone and Madison counties around that time, so I've been looking there. I know of a James Shoemaker who I suspect may be the father of John; he was in Limestone co in 1819 and lived in Madison Co, Mississippi in 1809. John Anthony Shoemaker first appears in a FC in the 1840 Saline Co, AR census, where he married and raised his family. The 1880 census says his father was from GA. If anyone knows anything about the Shoemakers in AL, or has suggestions on where to look, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks much, Ray Shoemaker __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send instant messages & get email alerts with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com/
