Hi Sue, The Birmingham Public Library (downtown) has extensive census records as well as CSA, etc. and they do have 1850 Macon. There are index books for each state showing the county along with the name. They also have microfilm readers with attached printers (I think the cost is 50 cents per copy.) The library is easily accessed from the freeway and has parking right beside it in a fenced lot with security guards. All these records are in the Julia Tutwiler Center which is accessed from the 3rd floor across a covered breezeway. Evelyn Leslie
