    3. I thought I'd share what little information I have of my Indian heritage. Other than my grandmother and older adults having been told how we are part indian through my grandmother's mother side, but no one ever told them how because of course in the south " grown fold never talked over chillin" !! Through researching my grandmother's family, the eldest member to date is Francis Cope who was born in Ga. My grandmother and the older family members remember Peter looked at least 1/2 Indian and my cousing Elizabeth remembers him taking her to some Indian either reservation areas in the now Bullock county area of Alabama. My hunch is Peter's mother was full Indian other than her name ?Lucy Bailey or Guilay as it appears on the 1870 census, there were no other afro american families in this area. Any leads similar to this name for this area is most appreciated. I have listed my compiled family names from 1820's - 1880. 1st Gen. 2nd Gen A. Francis Cope A1. MaryCope A2I Dock Cope ?B. Pinkey Cope A2. Doctor Marshall Cope A2II Mary Cope ?C. Winifred Cope A3. Ann Bird A2III Peter Cope A4. Mary Benson A3I Ella Bird A3I Ella Bird
