Dear Rooters, My GG-Grandfather WILLIAM H. STEPHENSON was born Dec 2, 1817 in the Anderson District of SC. He later married Salina C. Browning on July 8, 1849 in Chambers County, AL. Their eight children were born in Chambers and Tallapoosa Counties. There was Mary b. 1851; Robert b. 1852; James b. 1855; Lemuel or Samuel b. 1857; Albert b. 1861; Lizza b. 1862; Emily b. 1869; Lena (no data). William was a member of the 24th Alabama Infantry Regiment Co. C (1861 to 1865). He applied for a Confederate Soldiers Pension which he received in 1907 when he was living at Gabbott in Macon County.
