My great-great-grandparents were married in Oglethorpe County in 1836, and later found their way to Tallapoosa Co, Alabama -- very close to Macon County (they actually attended church and are buried in Macon Co). Yes, Oglethorpe County has a Message Board like this one with many helpful people. I'm not sure, but it is possible that early marriages are listed on the Oglethorpe GenWeb site. Quite a bit of info has been uploaded there. And if you do mean the town of Oglethorpe, it is in Macon County, Georgia. Good luck in your research. - Jeff Bryant -
