Does anyone know where the town of Buncomb was located? I think it had to have been around the outskirts of Montgomery somewhere. There was a house and farm in the area known as "the Wigglesworth place." This was in the 1940's and early to mid-'50's. Also, before the freeway, when Hwy 31 was the route from Montgomery back to Birmingham, we used to always stop at a clear, fast-running creek called Mortar Creek. In the summertime we were usually coming from either Panama City or just a trip to Montgomery to the old home place(s) and, with no air conditioning in the car, it was a great place to stop and wade, cool off and have a snack before heading on home towards Bham. Does Mortar Creek still exist? Thanks! Evelyn
