Evelyn I think the reference to sister and brother is like "sister in Christ" or "brother in Christ". Elizabeth Stiggins left the Baptist Church of Christ at Rehoboth 3-7-1835 and joined the newly forming Cubahatchee Baptist Church of Christ. It appears she attends many of the church conferences along side my family which take place at Carr's school house along Line Creek. Sarah Stiggins was Baptized on the Thursday following November 5th, 1842. Miss Nancy Stiggins was Baptized Sept.,20th 1844. Nancy Stiggins was given her letter to remove herself from the church on the third Lord's day in April 1846. Sarah Stiggins was also granted a letter of demission on the third Lord's day in July, 1848. Another letter was granted to Ann Stiggins 3td Lord's day June 1849 and was entered into the records as Ann Burdine. Elizabeth did the same 3td Lord's day in August 1849. I hope this helps. The oldest Stiggins name in this book is from a letter of demission from > The Baptist Church of Christ at Rehoboth (?) moving her letter to > Cubahatchee dated 3-7-1835. Carol, Thanks for this information. Does it give the first name of the female Stiggins who moved her letter in 1835? The "reference to brother and sister" is very confusing. I wonder what that meant? It was very kind of you to send this information. Good luck with your CARR research.
