Hi all I will be traveling to Macon county in July from Burbank, WA. Going to look for old family cemeteries and go through the courthouse records etc. Need some guidance. Seems like the last time I was there, August 1974, there were rattle snakes in the Shorter-LaPlace areas. So I know to wear boots and jeans! I plan to visit my grandparents graves in Notasulga, go over to Lochapoka in Lee Co, and see many more ancestors graves. Dad was an only child that survived infancy, and he left Macon county in 1943. I sure wish I could go to that CLOUD reunion in Atlanta in September as my maiden name is CLOUD and Dad is Hamilton Warren (Stormy) Cloud, but time restraints make it impossible. Flying to Nashville July 12th and staying between Nashville-Birmingham-Montgomery-Macon county until the 22nd. Tell me what all records I should dive into! Laura Alabama surnames include: CLOUD, WARREN, HAMILTON, MIMS, HOWARD, ROBERTS, GLENN, LEDBETTER, BROWN, MOORE, STEMBRIDGE, SWEARINGEN, JOHNS(t)ON, WOOD, GRAHAM related names include: PARRISH, HANNON, HODGE, WILSON, BOYD, HADEN, JORDAN, BARTON, BANGHAM, DAVIS, ALEXANDER, WARD, GARNER, DEMPTON, GREENWOOD, BAILEY, LEWIS, CAMPBELL, HULL, ROBERTSON, YARBROUGH and many more
