Shirly, I believe the same...that the "worthless" money is a treasure! But unfortunately it (and a lot of other precious letters, maps, deeds, & god knows what) are in the possession of my mother's first cousin who lives in Montgomery, is in her 80s, and appears to have Zero interrest in genealogy! I am too polite to ask this woman, who is a stranger to me, to send me all this stuff. I don't care about the dollar value of the Confederate money, and in fact think it should be donated to a museum, but it is frustrating to me and my mother that all these clues to this ancestry/history are in a closet! We live in the North and can't easily peruse it at her house. I have a theory, from what coorespondence I have had with her about family, that the CW and the "prewar glory" that all got lost, is a sore topic; something to "get over".....but it's hard to say; there are just lots of people sitting on treasures that people like us, who love digging into the past, would value more than gold......frustrating!!!
