Searching for family of Eleanor G. WILLIAMS who married James M. ALLEN in November, 1867, in Macon County, AL. On the 1870 census James is a medical doctor and they have 3 children, one of whom is 5 or 6 years old. This leads me to believe that Eleanor was married prior to her marriage to James. However, James was previously married to Caroline O. BURFORD in Macon County. I have located a E. G. SUMMERFORD (sic) marrying a Thomas J. WILLIAMS in Butler County, AL, but so far cannot determine whether this may have been Eleanor G. WILLIAMS. She is my g-g-grandmother, her daughter Zulia m. James Norman MASON although I have no record (yet) and had my grandfather, Norman Phelps MASON in Birmingham, AL, in 1893. Any help with this Eleanor G. WILLIAMS/Summerford?? would be appreciated.
