>From "Butler County, Alabama Obituaries," compiled by Marilyn Davis Barefield I found the following: "Dr. Joseph Harrison died at home Wed. He was born in Newcombe Co., near Ashville, NC 2/22/1828, the son of Nathaniel & Sarah Smith Harrison. He graduated at the Medical College in Charleston, SC, married Mary Louise Tomblinson at Carrollton, GA on 12/26/1854; moved to Butler Co. in 1858. He was a surgeon in the 26th AL Regt. He is survived by 2 daughters, Mollie Harrison & Mrs. George Barganier and 1 son, John Harrison. Burial was in the old cemetery (Pioneer) by hes wife wh died many years ago.
