I have not seen the Monroe Co. will of William Davis but have a poor copy of his widow Unity's Lowndes Co. petition for probate: ".... She further represents with your honor that the petitioner and the following named children, minors, to wit, Whity (sic),....." As I read it, "Whity" is the mother Unity. She is unmarried and in the home of her parents on the 1850 Lowndes census. And there is no Whity with her on the 1860 Lowndes or 1870 Crenshaw censuses. Adrian Davis
